About the Book

All Of My Mums is a powerful and moving memoir that explores the complexities of family, identity, and love. Author Emma Donoghue recounts her own experiences growing up with two mothers, and the challenges and joys that came with it.

Donoghue was born in Ireland in 1969, and her parents divorced when she was very young. She was raised by her mother and her mother's partner, and she never knew her biological father. As a child, Donoghue often felt like she didn't fit in, and she struggled to understand her own identity.

In her memoir, Donoghue reflects on her childhood and adolescence, and she explores the ways in which her family shaped her. She writes about the challenges of growing up with two mothers, and the prejudice and discrimination that she and her family faced. She also writes about the love and support that she received from her mothers, and the ways in which they taught her to be resilient and to embrace her own identity.

All Of My Mums is a beautifully written and deeply personal memoir that will resonate with anyone who has ever questioned the traditional definition of family, or who has struggled to find their place in the world. It is a story of love, loss, and resilience, and it is a testament to the power of family, no matter how it is defined.
