About Carl Barks

Carl Barks was born in Merrill, Oregon, in 1901. He began his career as a commercial artist, but he soon found his true calling in comics. In 1942, he joined the staff of Walt Disney's comic book division, where he quickly became one of the company's top artists and writers.

Barks' stories were a major influence on the development of the Disney comics universe. He created some of the most iconic Disney characters, including Scrooge McDuck, Gyro Gearloose, and Gladstone Gander. He also wrote some of the most beloved Disney stories of all time, including "The Gilded Man," "The Seven Cities of Cibola," and "Lost in the Andes!".
